Kashmir, a God gifted heaven like land on earth; there is a popular provoke in subcontinent that “If Heaven is exist on earth then it must be the Kashmir”. God created Kashmir only to show the world that How God can create Heaven and Man turns it into Hell. Kashmir has always been a conflict between India and Pakistan not even China has taken off his hands from Kashmir. But it strange that when few thousand people gather in Iran all the western media leave all works and try to cover it but several thousand people killed in Kashmir, daily Kashmiris do demonstration for Independence but you will find nothing in western media. This biased behavior of west is one of the root causes of terrorism.
Current uprising in Kashmir:
The current uprising in Kashmir is strange for both India and west because this is for the first time in the history of Kashmir that there is no support from Pakistan. In a major shift from Pakistan’s long-standing position, PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, whose party recently took the reins of the country, has done nothing for issue of Kashmir. Kashmir on the other hand seems to have a different mindset altogether. The valley believes that they should be given freedom both from the clutches of Pakistan & India. Until now, the issue was between India & Pakistan but now it is only between Kashmir and India. Nobody other than Kashmiris has the right over Kashmir and only the people of the valley should decide its fate.
India and Pakistan Point of View:
India always says that Kashmir is the Part of India and according to the instrument of accession signed by the Maharaja of Kashmir on 26th October 1947 and on the same day Indian troops landed on Kashmir. Whereas Pakistan has always said that Kashmir is a Muslim dominated region and always was and according to the resolution made in 1947 during the partition of India, it was made clear that whoever wants either to be with India or Pakistan is their own decision and Kashmiri people has always wanted to be with Pakistan, mojority population in Kashmir support of joining with Pakistan and even today they have the same decision. Furthermore according to the boundaries mentioned in Border plan of China, about nearly half of the Kashmir up to “Eidgah-Srinagar Location” is part of China. In 1948 a resolution was passed, where amongst other things both India and Pakistan were to withdraw troops from Kashmir (including Azad Kashmir or Pakistan occupied Kashmir) to create an environment for the people to vote freely on the issue of Accession. But according to the People of Kashmir free and fair elections have never happened. The UN resolutions also made it clear that solution of Kashmir whether Kashmir wants to remain with India or Join Pakistan or Establish itself as an Independent Nation should only be made according the decide of the people of Kashmir and not by India or Pakistan. But India has yet not given the right freedom (democracy) to the people of Kashmir. They are being suppressed by Various Acts like AFSPA (Armed Force Special Powers Act), PSA (Public Safety Act), Curfews, etc. The Army chief of India has made it clear that “we (Army) are in a war like condition”. India says that about 500-600 Militants are active in Kashmir, so is it right to have one million troops against just 500-600 militants, this clearly shows that million soldiers are not against 500-600 militants but against the People of Kashmir.
Human Right Violations:
We see human rights violation in Kashmir every day. In 2008 about 60 Kashmiri people were killed in just two months, who were carrying peaceful demonstrations over the Amarnath shrine board land conflict. In 2010, again tension raised up over the killing of a teenager, Tufail Ahmed Matto, when he was hit by a tear gas shell on his head. Since then Kashmir is burning once again. Separatists are giving Programs like Complete Shutdown, general protests, student protests, etc. against the Human rights violations in Kashmir, people spend their nights on roads, anti-India slogans ( like Go India Go Back Leave our Kashmir, We wants Independence) are being raised on speakers. To deal with such conditions, the Indian Government is doing nothing besides imposing curfew to suppress the Voice of People of Kashmir and shutdown all newspapers in Kashmir. The CRPF, Police are not accepting Curfew passes, Media Personals are being beating up for covering News in Kashmir, besides all these Problems in the valley The Indian PM is taking Visits to Afghanistan. If such incidents would have happened in Delhi or in Mumbai or in any other state of India, would Indian PM have visited to Afghanistan?
Western Hypocrisy:
What we see in Kashmir after all the Human Rights Violations, denial of Democracy by Indian government, banning of Freedom of Speech and brutal crackdown by Indian forces, no one in west is talking about this burning issue. Kashmir where life is cheaper than the death you can’t find any voice from amnesty international (western tool to pressurize anti imperialists forces) or UN. West can solved the issue of East Temor but not interested in solving of Kashmir Issue.
